  • Advanced beginners still follow the rules, but understand the context of the rules better because of their experience.
  • Competent are able to determine which rules are best for the situation at hand.
  • Proficient actively choose the best strategy instead of simply relying on rules.
  • Expert are able to make intuitive decisions.
